Origin of Left & Right:
I have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the "right" and Liberals are called the "left." Then I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible:
"The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left." Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)

Is a good one. I've been using in the header of one of my local blogs (I live in an extremely left of center town) and in my signature for email.
It occasionally has brought a response....

Thanks for sharing. I had heard that the origin was the French parliament, where liberals sat on the left, conservatives on the right. But it's good to know that there is a real basis for it.
