Some time ago, I reported that the BATFEIEIO had visited Anchorage gun stores and demanded their 4473 books. Senator Lisa Murkowski's office responded very quickly & met with BATF officials about this serious infringement on the laws regarding the behavior of their agents.
While I was on vacation, I received a response from Rep. Don Young's office as well. His staff also met with a deputy director of BATF, and received promises that such things are not supposed to happen (duh!) and that steps would be taken to prevent such abuses in the future.
Uh-huh. Strangely enough (not!), I had previously heard from the Anchorage 2nd Amendment Task Force, wherein they reported on the BATF seminar held here after all the excitement went down. A2ATF reported that the agents here effectively stated, "We didn't do anything wrong, and there's no reason to change our methods."
BOHICA. A word to the wise?

I also recently told you about the Bushnell Banner scope on my Weatherby .270 having its reticle fall apart while at the range. The lens assembly which holds the reticle also subsequently came loose & is now rolling back & forth in the barrel of the scope.
I contacted Bushnell's customer service department, and was advised to send them my scope ... along with a $10 check to cover the cost of their "repair evaluation". If, in their opinion, the complete failure of the scope is not covered by their unconditional lifetime guarantee, they'd send me a bill.
Pfooey on that.
Today I ordered a Nikon ProStaff 3x-9x scope to replace the Bushnell Cheapo.

Well, heck, at this point try banging the daggone thing on a table. Can't make it any worse, and it might shake things back into position.
It's probably worth a try. :) On the other hand, I guess that means it's time to use the pistol for awhile.
You'll like that one...3x\ x 9x is the nice...
When I was in Alaska a few years ago, I was told by a couple of different folks we were working with in Moose Pass about the 'shoot, shovel and shut up' philosophy they have...Won't work with ATF?
Just wondering mind you...
Meh, BOHICA is right... And good move on the scope!
