Flooding Continues; Talkeetna to Evacuate

The Anchorage Daily News has reader-submitted photos of area flooding here and here.

In related news, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough has sent a message that "flooding of the town of Talkeetna is imminent" and urges all residents to evacuate.

Customers of a restaurant in mid-town Anchorage are publishing photos on Facebook showing the patio tables underwater, along Campbell Creek.

It's getting ugly around south-central Alaska. Any of you folks with drought-like conditions want some rain? We seem to have plenty.

It's been a year of extremes. Hope it dries up soon. Wow!

NFO, our place is on a knoll, higher than the surrounding area, and there are no streams nearby; if we get flooded, I'll need an ark.

Teresa, this has been yet another cool, rainy summer. The rains this month have been close to our average annual totals, though.

Rev. Paul,

Stay dry, and safe. It has been rainy here too, but not terribly out of average. In Ohio, I understand it has been dry as a bone. As a result, the corn crop failed. The Lord is testing us on all fronts, it seems.

God bless,
