I'm Back, Sort Of

The primary cable cable company in Anchorage also supplies internet for many, as well as telephone service.

That network has been offline since the 60 to 130 mph winds blew through Anchorage, beginning Tuesday evening & throughout the night, into yesterday morning. There are still thousands without power. There's no TV or internet in very large portions of town, including my house & where I work. There are also thousands of trees down, as the entire city reverberates to the sound of chainsaws.

I've brought my laptop to work, because - for whatever reason - that same provider's wi-fi signal works just fine, thankyouverymuch.

So forgive me if I haven't responded to your recent comments, as I've been offline for the last 24 hours. I'll try to get to them later this morning ... but for now, work beckons.

Have a great day, folks, and thanks for stopping by.

I'm sort of glad you're back too!

just kidding ;)

Glad things didn't get any worse that what they did.

Thanks, Matt. It would have been much worse if such winds came through in January. Power outage when it's -20 are rather more than "inconvenient".

Glad you are still with us!

Thanks, Kelly. God took good care of us - there were trees down all around us, but none on our property.

Hope all was secured and/or battened down?!

GFA, the only things we didn't move indoors when the wind was forecast was our BBQ grill; it's on the leeward side of the house, and was unaffected. Again, we were very, very blessed & protected by God.
