Future Posts

I'll only say this about that.

I will continue posting, talking about the Alaskan weather, local news, and national issues when I feel so moved. My daughters & I will continue visiting the range, and life goes on.

Note that I didn't say "goes on as before." With the apparent collapse of the Republican Party, those who voted for free stuff outnumbered those of us who wanted to be left alone.

Things will go on, but not as before. The country has been altered, perhaps irrevocably, although many of the changes have yet to be implemented. But it will not be the America in which I grew up; that place is gone. I accept that, and move on.

I refuse to be cowed, depressed, or defeated, and I remember what "Chesty" Puller said: "We're surrounded - that simplifies our problem!"

Carry on ... and remember: "If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

And a big "Amen" to this.

The picture of the enemies have become decidedly clearer now and yes they surround us. We just need to keep doing what we know to be right, not only put our faith in him, but our patience as well.

Out time schedule certainly isn't his. In the OT Jacob worked 7 years for his wife only to have a dirty trick pulled on him at the last second and ended up working another 7 yrs to get Rachel. That's obviously the short version, but it does lend to the idea that what we want and when we want it aren't always the same as what and when God will give it to us.

If you'll pardon my phrasing, we just need to be patient and "allow" God to do his thing. It always works better that way.

We might as well enjoy the life we have while we have it. Like I said earlier God is in charge and the enemies just think they are.

Great post! Keep 'em coming.

Matt, that's it exactly - you got it!

Keads, it beats the alternative.

Cathy, I'm optimistic because I know Who is in charge. :^) And I will watch the Whittle piece as soon as I can. Thanks!

Guffaw, the smiley face is just because it seemed better than weeping.

Rev. Paul

A friend of mine quoted
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

I believe it fits perfectly.

Rev. Paul said...

Sandy, indeed it does. I was thinking of that verse last night.

Any G-d who believes exactly what I believe, wants exactly what I want, and hates exactly who and what I hate, would not be large enough to be G-d at all!

So as he moves to his own plan and his own purpose, it's up to me to learn, do, and grow by his design instead of mine. Ah, well, he never promised Christianity would be easy!

Rev. Paul said...

NFO, thanks.

Wing, that is true. Any so-called deity who was small enough for us to wrap our minds completely around, wouldn't be deserving of the title.

And no, it's not easy. But it's a whole lot easier than life without Him. :^)
