Lazy Morning

No matter how hard I try, nor how late I stay up reading, morning always seems to come 'round again. Darn it.

I slept late (!), not arising until 0718; that's the latest I've stayed in bed in ... honestly, I can't remember the last time. I generally wake before 0530, except when on vacation. I don't even fight it anymore; a lifetime habit isn't something I can turn on/off easily. Darn it.

But we had a leisurely morning, as it's the first Saturday in several weeks that Younger Daughter doesn't have to go to work. We lazed around the living room, sipping coffee and enjoying a companionable silence until breakfast.

Scrambled eggs, a thick slice of fresh-baked bread with butter and marion blackberry jam, and a cup o' joe on the side ... can't be beat.

It's 4 degrees outside, so I'm in no hurry to get started, and may just take it easy today. Thanks for stopping by, my friends.

That sounds suspiciously very near the same breakfast I had this morning. You're right it can't be beat.... And great minds eat alike.

Enjoy your day.

Thanks, Matt; you, too.

It's funny how our bodies get used to that automatic built in clock.
We all deserve a day of just relaxing, and doing absolutely nothing.

Yeah, let's not go down that wake up time rathole... sigh...

Not that you don't need the occasional break...
Hope you enjoyed it!

Sandy, it is ... frustrating, sometimes, but oh well.

Old NFO, I know ... I know. ...sigh...

gfa, I'm enjoying a day with few responsibilities. Thanks.

Sounds like a nice start to the day. Oh and if you can tell me how to get my butt out of bed early each day I would appreciate it. This week has me starting work at 7am (with an hours drive) so will be very challenging!.

It was a great day, Julie, but everyone I know is trying to figure out how to not wake up early. :^)
