PC-Mental – A man
who repeatedly asked officers to kill him and offered to sign a paper
authorizing his own execution was taken into protective custody.
Trespass –
Officers issued a 72-hour trespass advisement, per Unisea Security, to a
disgruntled patron who had been removed from the doorman’s chair amidst much
cursing, and had then proceeded to argue with people outside of the Harbor View
Bar.
Ambulance Request – EMS
personnel provided care and transport for a man who had been struck in the back
with a 35-kg block of frozen fish.
Assistance
Rendered – An officer responded to the PCR regarding a report of smoke emanating
from the building. The officer determined that the smoke was coming from
a chimney in the Burma Road Chapel.

Assault – Faatoia
Laulu, 36 yoa, of Oregon, was arrested after a coworker reported that Laulu had
punched him in the face and stomach. Laulu denied hitting the man but did
admit to shoving him after the man insulted his culture.
Disorderly
Conduct – Officers responded to Icicle Seafoods regarding a recently
terminated employee who was expressing his displeasure with the situation by
throwing things about and kicking walls. After officers arrived, the man
collected his belongings and left the vessel without further ado.
Animal – Two
police officers and the ACO chased a small vulpine dog that was frolicking in
traffic, from East Broadway to Dutton to Jack London Drive, where it eventually
fled to the confines of its own home. The owner was cited.
Suspicious
Person/Activity – Officer observed someone who fit
the description of a man previously trespassed from Unisea property, walking on
the docks at Unisea. The man hid his face and then hid on board a vessel
tied to the dock. With the vessel captain’s assistance, the officer
learned the unidentified man was part of the vessel crew and had been hiding
because he was not supposed to be drinking.
Suspicious
Person/Activity – Drunken caller in Florida reported
that her husband, in Unalaska, had threatened to kill her. She reported as well
that her husband had tried to hit her 19 years earlier, but had instead hit
their daughter. An officer asked the woman to phone with more information
when she is sober.

My life will be meaningless unless I actually spend a couple of days in that place observing the strange and exotic natives and their quaint customs.

I believe it, NFO - a big part of it has to be a love of the Aleutians ... and I understand that after spending two years on Adak.
