Gonna Be a Long 7 Months

until vacation. We were unable to take our annual pilgrimage to warmer climes this past winter, for various reasons. However, we just booked a nice, long getaway for early next winter. If the summers weren't so nice here, I don't think we could stand the wait.

It's also our first long vacation alone since becoming parents 24 years ago. Feels a bit strange at first, but it won't take long to make the transition.

See? We're over it already.

tee hee hee!

Trust me, you'll adapt quite nicely to just two on vacation. The two of us have taken many since our son left home. At first it felt very strange, but now, we like it. Then again, when the grandchildren blessed us with their lives we took them...now, not so much, which is a shame. They're fun.

Understood, Stephen. We did take a week together last year, but it wasn't really a vacation (visiting our mothers & siblings.) This will be a "no responsibilities, waitress bring me another bowl of pineapple" kind of trip. :)

I guess I traveled too much when I was young I just never seem to have any desire to go on trips any more. I know the wife is hoping we can so I will bite the bullet unless things keep getting worse then no way am I going to be far from home.

I understand, Preppy. We each traveled when young, but put off vacationing for so many years that going now seems like a wonderful luxury.

I understand. Even with your gorgeous view . . we all need a change of scene. We missed our winter get-away. Never again. ( if we can help it.)

Cathy, very true - and we feel the same way about not getting a trip Outside this winter. Never again!

Sandy, thank you - I know it will go quickly.

Thanks, NFO - and yes. :^)
