Global Cooling, Anyone?

Record low temps outpacing record highs 2-1 in USA...

Lake Superior 20 degrees colder than in '12... Montgomery, AL shatters record low set in 1889...

Coldest July ever in Indianapolis...

It's the coolest summer on record in the Lower 48, folks. And now the global warming liars will try to convince us that it's "hotter than ever".

And there will be many stupid people who believe it.

Indeed ... more's the pity.

The Global Warming freaks are biting nails right now. They are so pissed that they have started just outright banning anyone who questions their warming narrative because they have no leg to stand on and still refuse to give up their religion.

Rev. Paul said...

Very true, Preppy. They're increasingly transparent.

I'm enjoying the global cooling, so is the garden and the water bill!

I hear you, Max. Five of our last eight summers have been cool & wet, and a "warm" day for us is anything over 65 degrees. Nice.

It has been cool here. Of course we had some summers like that in Chicago too where the temp maybe got over 90 for 3 days.

The interesting thing is that we have had consistent rain all summer. That's been nice. No stressed out trees and plants. :)

I was kinda liking the global warming and I really wanted waterfront property here in the middle of the state. Guess it's not gonna happen... Oh well.

Teresa, you've got a warped sense of humor. I like it! :)

You are so right. I have heard several "news" stories about what a hot summer it has been. Meanwhile we haven't even taken the plastic off our little air conditioner and my favorite flannel shirt is right by my chair.

threecollie, that's not a surprise. Family has reported a few hot days in Missouri this year, but no long stretches of heat.

An unfunded engineer, in search of the truth, discovered that CO2 change, and therefore human activity, does not cause global warming. The reason is that terrestrial radiation absorbed by CO2 is immediately thermalized, i.e. the absorbed energy is handed over to other atmospheric molecules which outnumber CO2 2500 to 1.

But this leaves the question of what actually does drive average global temperature change.

Two primary drivers of average global temperature have been identified. A simple equation, using only them, very accurately explains the reported up and down measurements since before 1900. The coefficient of determination, R2>0.9 (correlation coefficient = 0.95). The equation provides credible estimates back to the low temperatures of the Little Ice Age (1610). The current trend is down.

R2 = 0.9049 considering only sunspots and ocean cycles.
R2 = 0.9061 considering sunspots, ocean cycles and CO2 change.
The tiny difference in R2, whether considering CO2 or not, corroborates that CO2 change has no significant effect on climate.

The coefficients of determination are a measure of how accurately the calculated average global temperatures compare with measured. R2 > 0.9 is very accurate.

The calculations use data since before 1900 which are official, accepted as valid and are publicly available.

Solar cycle duration or magnitude, considered separately, fail to correlate but their combination, expressed as the time-integral of solar cycle anomalies, gives excellent correlation. A solar cycle anomaly is the difference between the sunspot number for a year and an average sunspot number for many years.

Everything not explicitly considered (such as the 0.09 K s.d. random uncertainty in reported annual measured temperature anomalies, aerosols, CO2, other non-condensing ghg, volcanoes, ice change, etc.) must find room in the unexplained 9.51%.

The method, equation, data sources, history (hind cast to 1610) and predictions (to 2037) are provided at http://agwunveiled.blogspot.com and references.

Since I live in Arizona it would be best if I didn't try to address "global cooling". Pant pant.

Rev. Paul said...

Understood, JMD. There are always going to be hot and cold spots.

Sorry about the one you're in.

I'm goin' with Dan! He seems to be onto something:)

Rev. Paul said...

Yep, he's telling the truth: the evidence doesn't support any warming at all.

Haven't your heard? It's not GW, anymore.
Now it's 'climate change' or some third moniker.
Which covers everything.

Call it 'weather'.

Guffaw - Some call it GW, some call it AGW, some call it CC ... I call it BS.
