Yesterday, the predicted snowfall began ... and for two hours, we watched with glee as big, fat flakes came down.
Then the south wind picked up, the temperature rose 10 degrees, and the flakes turned to rain. Temps have been in the mid- to upper-30s ever since.
And oh, yes: it just started sleeting.

This morning, I'm midst-kerfluffle with the Postal Service. My long-awaited gift is reported to have arrived in Anchorage on the morning of the 24th.
Today, I received an e-mail stating they had attempted and failed to deliver the package. I'm not sure when this was supposed to have happened.
- No e-mail or text message stating that the package is "on a carrier vehicle and out for delivery". Those always precede a parcel delivery. Always.
- No such message on the post office website, using the tracking number.
- No sticky note from a carrier was left on the door, on either of the last two days.
I bottled up my skepticism regarding their "we tried" message (since I've been here in the house since 10:45 am on Christmas Eve) and requested delivery today.
In the meantime, we'll avoid the reavers by staying home again today. Tomorrow morning, we'll head out bright and early to see if any of the stores are still standing. Heh.
All y'all have a wonderful, blessed day out there, and thank you again for stopping by, friends.
